Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is so much more than lovely smelling oils! Aromatherapy has been used for centuries as a natural way to enhance and rehabilitate the health of the body. Aromatherapy uses Essential oils which are the ‘blood’ of the plant life they are extracted from and scientific studies show that these oils contain chemical components that can exert specific effects on the mind and body. Their chemistry is complex; each essential oil contains as much as 100 chemical components, which together exert a strong effect on the whole person with the oil acting differently depending on which component is predominating in that specific oil.

For example, some oils are relaxing, some soothe your nervous system, some relieve pain, some act as an antibacterial, etc. Then there are oils such as lemon and lavender, which adapt to what your body needs in a specific situation and time. The mechanism in which these essential oils act on us is not very well understood. What is understood is that their molecules are small enough to enter our body cells via massage or inhalation which affects our mind, body and emotions, and they leave no harmful residues inside the body.
